Buying guide: Samsung Galaxy A16 5G parts
The Galaxy A16 5G (SM-A166B) is one of Samsung’s best sellers of 2024-2025, with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen and 5000 mAh battery. Many internal parts are shared with the A16 4G and the A17 series, so stock is plentiful and prices are reasonable. These are the five repairs we see most.
1. Cracked screen
The most common. You need the Original Samsung full screen GH82-36143A (Service Pack), Super AMOLED with Gorilla Glass, supplied on the frame: no panel to separate, just move the board, battery and cameras across.
Note: the A16 4G (A165F) screen does not fit.
Add a full-cover tempered glass while you’re at it, fits A16 4G and 5G.2. Won’t charge
Try another cable and charger and gently clean the USB-C port. If that fails:
Charging board, Original GH96-18449A or compatible, carrying the USB-C port.
New board, same fault: the main flex, Original GH82-36147A or compatible, shared with the A16 4G and A17 4G and 5G.3. Battery won’t last
5000 mAh, Original Samsung (GH82-36145A) or compatible EB-BA166ABY, the same in the A16 4G, A16 5G, A17 4G, A17 5G and A26. Glued in: test before fixing with fresh adhesive.
4. Fingerprint not working
The reader is on the side. Replace the fingerprint flex, in black, green or silver. If it’s the volume key that has failed, you need the power and volume flex.
5. Blurry photos or cracked camera glass
Glass only: camera lens, shared with the A16 4G. Blurry or black image: 50 MP main camera.
