Released in March 2022, the Galaxy A53 5G (SM-A536B) was one of the most recommended mid-rangers of its year: 6.5-inch 120 Hz Super AMOLED, stabilised 64 MP camera, 32 MP selfie camera, IP67 and a 5000 mAh battery. Most A53s still run well inside today. What fails is what wears out: the battery, the screen and the charging port.
The battery: the change you’ll feel most
The A53 uses the EB-BA336ABY 5000 mAh, the same as the A33. After three or four years it’s normal for it to shut down early or not last the day.
